Beyond Carbon: Ensuring justice and equity in REDD+ across levels of governance

Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) has rapidly become a key pillar of international cooperation on climate change. A host of state and non-state actors at all levels of governance have entered this emerging policy field and this conference aims to take stock of these developments to date from both natural and social science perspectives and will discuss the role of justice and equity in current debates on REDD+. Its particular aim is to discuss the limits and opportunities in deriving co-benefits from REDD+ activities.

Water Security, Risk and Society

Water security is a defining challenge for society in the 21st century. This international conference will convene many of the world's thought leaders from science, policy and enterprise to understand the status of and pathways to water security at multiple scales. The conference fosters exchange across developed and developing countries and regions, seeking to identify and elucidate global interdependencies between different socio-economic and cultural contexts.

Graduate Student Conference: Institutional Investor and Corporate Governance for Sustainability

This conference provides graduate students the opportunity to present their research and engage in a unique dialogue with academics and practitioners on governance challenges and opportunities facing a global economy broadly characterized by increasing integration, resource scarcity and growing inequality. The ongoing climate change debates and economic crises provide examples of how financial markets have become an important policy mechanism for sustainable economies and financial systems and this conference seeks to unite academic rigour with practical questions of implementation.
